Searching for an alternative to Craigslist to place an ad or listing? A great alternative is Backpage.com. Similar to Craigslist, it uses clean HTML and is highly search-engine-optimized. It will even automatically insert the h1 tag on the posting title, which Craigslist does not (it uses the h2 tag instead). Another great feature about Backpage is it does not automatically add the rel= “nofollow” tag to your link, which makes the link far more beneficial than Craigslist.

Finally, Backpage does not have the odious flagging problem that has totally plagued Craigslist. There is little doubt that when Backpage becomes more utilized its owners will no doubt turn it to ruins, similar to what Craigslist has become, but there’s plenty of time for that.
