Will Real Estate of the Future Be From a Virtual Office?

Interesting discussion going on over at the 1000WATT discussion blog, talking about what Real Estate will look like in the future. The entry questions whether a physical location is even necessary any more? One comment points out that according to the NAR, 80% or more potential customers start their search for an agent online.

The biggest sticking point in all of this is that successful real estate agents know how to market themselves and present an impressive image to the customer. Will potential customers view the lack of an office as a negative toward a Realtor, or has the web shifted perceptions enough that this is acceptable? Not sure, and the the debate is lively in the comments.

  1. Apart from the virtual office, there is also the serviced office option.

In my opinion, real estate agents see majority of their ‘future’ clients at the open home inspections, they could then use a virtual office boardroom to sign papers with their client.
It’s cost effective which in turn gives them the opportunity to put more money towards advertising online in search engines.

  2. Pingback: virtual office
