Twitter as a tool for real estate marketing? We’ll find out.

I’ve always been curious about Twitter, which takes blogging to the micro level. Real estate agents are some of the most adroit adopters of the service…agents are constantly Tweeting about new properties, listings or just events from their lives.

After talking to some agents yesterday, I’ve decided to jump in. We’ll be “Tweeting” away over at ProSPS, and you can see our updates in the sidebar. Anytime we have a new blog post – either on this blog or on our ActiveRain account – I’ll post an update. If you have a Twitter account, be sure to follow us and I’ll return the favor.

What value will this Twitter account have? I don’t know, but I’ll be taking notes and I’ll write an article about my experiences at some point in the near future.

Do you have a Twitter account? How are you using it?  Let me know in the comments – I’m curious about gathering some different experiences.

  1. Twitter rocks, in my opinion.

Yes, it’s a tool, but it’s more than that. It allows me to share, to ask for help, to display my knowledge, and to expand my universe. I converse with people who may or may not be interested in real estate.

Part of what creates my credibility is that I have to be “real” on Twitter. Still very aware of my business persona, but also sharing more of myself than I would otherwise.

More and more, my clients are researching me online before I ever get the first phone call, and the decision to hire me has already been made before I pick up the phone.

  2. One of the great things about Twitter is allows companies, such as yours, to hear things that you normally wouldn’t hear. If someone is frustrated by something or is not getting the results that they expected, it’s much easier to “tweet” about it and find someone else to help them out. If you are on Twitter, you’ll be able to intercept those complaints and deal with them immediately – improving your on-line reputation and customer service.
