There's a problem with trying to equate the use of text messaging and mobile web in the US with the exponential rise of its use in India and the UK. Those countries have less widespread use of PCs, especially in India. Because of this, mobile is the way they get their multimedia and internet. Cute applications for real estate marketing on the iPhone are great and text messaging should definitely be used by agents, but having .mobi sites doesn't seem necessary for many, right now.

We are seeing an increased awareness of the need for agents to get involved with texting. It is a slow process of change but none the less it will happen and those that embrace the new web 2.0 will benefit tremendously. We would like to link our real estate video networking site to texting so that the videos could be view on the mobile devices. Our site is new and still in beta but we are getting tremendous support from the industry because just as agents need to be texting they definitely need to be taking videos of their listings to please their sellers and the viewing public. Our site http://ViewThisHome.com is poised to be the premier real estate video network. If anyone has any ideas as to how we could link these technologies we would be interested in a further discussion.
